Introduction

Overview

Hong Kong, also known as The Peal of Orient, is a vibrant metropolis pulsating with skyscrapers and bustling crowds. Amidst all this hustle and bustle, it’s hard for us to stop and admire the sheer beauty of this city.

But if we pay a close attention, Hong Kong is also a tranquil place that is made up of many large and small offshore islands, mountains, fishing villages, and historic landmarks. Perhaps in our busy lives, we may not be able to spare time to appreciate the beauty of Hong Kong.

Therefore, we created the FIRST-EVER trail-running Event with original route to offer a brand-new experience, letting our participants to explore, admire, and experience the fascinating side of Hong Kong. ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS, the name of our event, is themed around the islands in Hong Kong.

ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS consists of six different routes distributed across various islands. Each route varies in length and difficulty, catering to participants of all ages and abilities. ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS wishes for every participant to appreciate the scenery along each route throughout the event.

Details Introduction

ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS is a series of races held virtually across multiple islands, including Peng Chau, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island, Lantau Island, and Hong Kong Island. Participants are free to choose the island route that best suits their abilities, with the designated route to be completed within the specified race deadline.

To motivate participants, the organizer will arrange a 'Challenge Day' on the designated routes every month, providing energy drinks, photo-shooting, and luggage storage as support. The primary objective of 'Challenge Day' is for participants in all categories to complete the designated route as quickly as possible. Those who excel in each category will be invited to a complimentary gathering hosted by the organizer on 'Challenge Day' at the local island.

The gathering is an opportunity for the organizer to acknowledge the outstanding performance of each participant and for participants to enjoy and share their experiences.

As mentioned previously, ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS consists of six different routes distributed across various islands. The top 10 finishers in each category who complete all six designated routes with the shortest accumulated time will be eligible for a 50% discount to participate in the 'ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS 24' held next year.

The 'ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS 24' is the ultimate challenge that requires participants to complete all six routes, covering a total distance of over 100 kilometers within 24 hours. Details of this competition will be announced later. The participant with the best performance in each category (determined by the shortest accumulated time across all six designated routes) will also receive a mysterious prize.

Note: Participants must register and confirm attendance at least 14 days prior to 'Challenge Day' to receive support services.

Beneficiary organization

To encourage more amputees in Hong Kong return to sporting activity, a portion of the proceeds from the ULTRA TRAIL ISLANDS will be donated to the Hong Kong Amputees Sport Association, founded by Mr. Kam Hung FUNG (Blade Runner). The donation aims to assist amputees in Hong Kong in acquiring suitable prostheses, enabling them to overcome obstacles and lead an active lifestyle.

Sharing Session

Participants are encouraged to register and attend 'Challenge Day' to experience mutual encouragement during the competition. Following the event, the organizer will host a gathering where participants can enjoy delicious food and share experiences from the event.
